Getting around in Lapland

I. Buses for intercity connectivity

Lapland has very good connectivity and frequency of buses for all cities  – matkahuolto

II. How to Reach Kakslauttanen Resort, Glass igloo resort

Buses for long distance i.e. matkahuolto is used to reach directly to Kakslautenen

a. From Ivalo Airport/Rovaniemi bus station TO Kakslautenen matkahuolto

Buses drops and picks up in front of Kakslauttanen east village.
If  you have booking in west village, the resort people takes care of it as they run free shuttles very frequently.

b. From Kakslauttanen  TO  Saariselka/Ivalo/Rovaniemimatkahuolto

III. Rovaniemi

A. Rovaniemi Airport To City

Airport taxi shuttle service runs according to the arrival time of flights and cost around 7 euro per person.

In case you miss this then you have 2 options.

1.Wait for some local shuttle which generally cost around 10 euro per person for city.
2.Taxi, they run at standard KM pricing tel: +358 16 106 410 /+358 60 030 030 / +358 29 009 1090

B. Rovaniemi City To Airport

As mentioned above, Shuttles run according to departure time & picks up from all main hotels in the city.

C. Rovaniemi City To Bus station

Best way is taxi. Its just 10 Euros for taxi. Hotels do arrange for that. Or call above numbers.

D. To Santa Claus Village

Line no. 8 goes to & fro Santa Claus village.
Its around 4 euro person.

From airport to city centre  – 9.6 km
Rail way station to Rovaniemi city  – 2.5 km
Bus station to Rovaniemi city – 2km
From city centre to Santa Claus Village – 8.6 km
From city center to arctic nature – 5km

IV. Helsinki airport to Airport hotels

Free Airport shuttle runs to and fro Airport hotels.

Airport pick up and drop facility is quite good everywhere and hotel staff are quite well aware of the schedules.
